The Rise Park Community Association

The  Community Association Building is close to the Shops and the Bus Terminus on Bestwood Park Drive West.   It is certainly not the most attractive building on the estate, but there are hopes of a long overdue replacement at some time in the future.

The Centre is available for hire for private parties, wedding receptions, or for organised classes or meetings, though charges are not advertised or known

Contact Rise Park Community Association direct for more information : -   Telephone (0115)  927 4663

Various meetings, fitness, dance, slimming, keep fit, karate, art or social classes are held within the Centre though the Association appears to do  little or nothing to advertise its' presence, and there is no external notice board, newsletter or other advertising to show the timetable of activities

Note - March 2008 :

I regret that I have had to discontinue the timetable of activities  owing to problem of keeping it up to date due to failure of event organisers in adding, deleting or updating details of their classes, meetings etc.
This is a small selection of photos of the Centre and its surroundings:

Is anything really new?  Although vandalism is an occasional problem it is not entirely new, as the following extract from the Community Associations' Newsletter dated Summer 1985 shows:-

" Summer will soon be upon us and with it the School Holidays. This is the time when the buildings on our estate appear to receive more than the usual amount of attention by graffiti artists and other similar vandals. Last year the Association spent a large amount of its hard earned cash on re-furbishment and redecoration. The inside is still pleasant to the eye, but the outside - UGH!
When will these people leave us alone?
Parents, please have a word with your youngsters. Not all the vandals come from OFF the estate"
P.S. Whatever happened to the Newsletter- it is no more??
