The Library is situated in the grounds of the Top Valley School, and was opened in January 1984. The main  entrance for vehicles is on Top Valley Drive. Pedestrian access from the estate is by a short footpath on Bestwood Park Drive adjacent to the Junior School playground and opposite the dentists surgery.

The library contains around 23,000 titles and has books to suit every age group and every taste.
Over 70,000 books are borrowed from the library in the course of a year.

A wide range of Large Print books is also available.

Joining the library is free, just call in with some proof of identity and fill in a short form

A good range of daily newspapers and popular magazines is kept and these are available free of charge to visitors on the premises

A small charge is made for loan of the Spoken Word tapes, Language tapes and CDs and items from the Video, CD and DVD collections

Computers are available, free to library members, giving access to the Internet during library hours, and also the ability to use Microsoft Office.
The library also offers printing, faxing and photocopying facilities. Enquire at the library for full details of these services

Talking books, large print books, musical scores and an Asian language collection are also available

Car parking is free within the grounds, and the library all is on one level - with no stairs to climb. But finding a parking space can be difficult, especially during school hours

Monday 9 am to 12.00 noon 1.30pm to 5pm
Tuesday 9 am to 12.00 noon 1.30pm to 7pm
Wednesday

Closed all Day

Thursday 9 am to 12.00 noon 1.30pm to 7pm
Friday 9 am to 12.00 noon 1.30pm to 5pm
Saturday 9 am to 1pm Closed
Story Time takes place on Mondays from 2.15pm to 2.45pm - all children under 5 are welcome, along with their parents or carer.
A scheme of School Holiday Activities takes place every summer (and occasional half term), free of charge, with storytelling and craft for all ages.
