Sandy Banks is a newly designated (Jan 2008) Local Nature Reserve (LNR) - a site that is managed for wildlife that is easily accessible to local people, schools and communities for informal recreational & educational purposes.

The nearest access point is around five / six minutes by car or No 89 bus, and from Elmbridge - off Beckhampton Road near to the shopping precinct.
Sandy Banks is is a narrow ribbon of pleasant parkland with tarmac pathways, plenty of seating and excellent lighting.

The path emerges at the bottom entrance on Beckhampton Road, just above the Police Station

A pleasant short stroll for anyone shopping at the small Co Op (as a welcome relief from Tesco or Morrisons) after closure of our local Kwik Save store in August 2007!!
