Vernon Park

Vernon Park is approx. two miles distant and accessible by Tram, alighting at the David Lane or Basford stops, for entrance through the front gates.

For anyone wishing to use the car there is easy, and free,  on street parking on Vernon Road immediately by the entrance gate and also a small car park by turning into Vernon Avenue - though sometimes a bit of a tight squeeze owing to residents having to park on both sides of the avenue.

This is a City Council park containing a lake, football pitches, bowling green and tennis courts.

There are no ornamental gardens or flower beds and, as with many City Council parks it is looking slightly run down (Jan 2008). But it is understood that the Council have plans to rebuild the sports pavilion, and renovate the football pitches, tennis courts and car park at some time in the near future.

The pond would also benefit from some attention!
